Joey Bada$$ and his team may have to go over the concept of “timing” or the cliche “striking when the iron is hot.” In the wee hours of last night when most were participating in MTV VMAs slander, the Brooklyn rapper dropped “Killuminati Part. 2,” aka his Kendrick Lamar response.

Over a moody loop, the Beast Coast rapper lyrically chastises K. Dot for that now infamous “King Of New York” reference on his “Control (HOF)” verse.

I got all these rap ni–a f-cking fearing me, heard they was looking for war but they ain’t declaring me/I’m well aware, NY not that aware, I’m the real king fella here, you’re more like prince of Bel Air,” spits Joey.

Did Joey Bada$$ put on for NYC or nah? Let us know where you stand in the comments. Listen to  “Killuminati Part. 2” below.
