Any televised award show becomes an inspiration for Twitter jokes and wisecracks. But the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards, which finally aired last night (Oct. 16), bred a special kind of slander.
Of course there were the performances and the Cyphers (watch all of them here) got plenty of attention. What was clear was that no artist was safe from getting clowned on Twitter. Rick Ross choosing to rock a velour tracksuit, with no shirt on, made him a sizable target. No pun intended. Also, Lil Kim caught some vicious Twitter L’s that involved the Bride of Chucky. There is no chill on the Internets.
One piece of praise was universal, though. Kendrick Lamar killed his verse.
