It’s safe to say that there’s no love lost for the police on the part of Smoker’s Club Tour headliners Joey Bada$$ and Ab-Soul.
While in St. Louis, the MCs had a run in with the local authorities for unspecified reasons — it’s rumored to be marijuana related. An affiliate captured the moment on camera and posted it on Instagram. The footage shows a calm, cool and collected Soul, while Joey can be seen laughing and inquiring why he’s been handcuffed.
“Have you figured out why I’m in these handcuffs? Have you figured it out?,” asked the Brooklyn native. Pro Era member Kirk Knight and others were also said to be cuffed.
Joey’s tour DJ and renowned producer Statik Selektah cleared the situation up via Twitter, saying “St. Louis For the record no one is in jail right now and the show goes on tonight. Typical police racism tho.”
