Tech N9ne is sure to have fun every night that he hits the stage while on his Something Else Tour this fall. There’s an element missing though — let him tell it, it’s a pretty substantial one.

“I’m totally bored on this tour,” he admits, half-jokingly. “Because I don’t f— groupies anymore… I don’t let people on the bus that I don’t know. Know what I’m sizzlin’?”” The Kansas City MC says the appeal of beautiful strangers has been lost on him since he sobered up some years back and tragedy struck in 2011 while on the All 6’s & 7’s tour.

“It’s something I used to do when I was on drugs back then,” says the Strange Music founder. “But I’m super bored because I don’t let b—— suck on my d—, I don’t let nobody come near me. After Jay Rock’s hypeman got killed a couple years ago, I have to have all this security now like Michael Jackson.” It’s as if he doesn’t believe it himself, this whole new lifestyle is surreal to Tech N9ne — man of the people, so to speak.

“Usually when I’m f—– up, I just fall asleep back here in my f—– bed man.” he continues. “I got a Starcoach with a revolving closet… It’s something that you’d like to show off.”

Still, outside of missing new –and undoubtedly wild– sexual excursions, one can easily say that Tech N9ne is living a sort of charmed life. That much is certain. The 41-year-old MC has been in the business for 14 years, boasting 13 LPs. The latest addition to his catalogue is the aptly titled, Something Else which debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 charts back in July. If the self-applied groupie drought is the only thing Tech is worried about while on tour, he’s in a pretty good place right now.
