Wale may be the most recognizable MC from the nation’s capital, but there’s actually a pool of quality artists in the area that are gunning for Hip-Hop supremacy. Among them is the MMG rapper’s known affiliate, Black Cobain, who returns with a track called “Turn Up.”

Don’t go assuming that this is just another club song, because this is actually the polar opposite. “I heard you kids ain’t home and your bills ain’t paid, but you still up in the club though,” Cobain raps.

That pretty much captures the theme of the record, as he and fellow hometown rapper Fat Trel trade verses about people who don’t have their priorities in order.

“Turn Up” will appear on Black Cobain’s forthcoming Perfect Contradiction mixtape, due out November 3. Hear the cut below.
