To celebrate having a whopping seven GRAMMY nominations, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis shot an interesting new clip for their breakout hit “Can’t Hold Us.” Rather than the usual imaginative locale, the rapper/producer duo filmed this in New York City on a MTA bus.

The impromptu performance was done for GRAMMYs’ “Music Unleashes” viral campaign. Unsuspecting commuters gave Macklemore and Lewis F.C.P. — that’s full crowd participation if you didn’t know.

The 56th annual GRAMMY Awards air January 26. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are nominated for Song of the Year for “Same Love” and Album of the Year for their platinum selling album The Heist.

Macklemore recently spoke on being nominated against Kendrick Lamar, who’s also a respected fan favorite. “[In the Best Rap Album category], we’re up against Kendrick, who made a phenomenal album,” Macklemore said while speaking with The Source. “In terms of [that category], I think it should go to Kendrick. He’s family. TDE is family, and I understand why Hip-Hop would feel like Kendrick got robbed [if he didn’t win].”

In any case, a win or loss isn’t in Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ hands. As we await the GRAMMYs, see the spontaneous visual below.
