Lupe Fiasco used a popular slang term as inspiration for a new track called “Thot 97,” which of course is a play on the popular New York City radio station. Yes, you read that right.

Don’t expect any Hot 97 slander here folks, but as always, Lu approached this with thoughtfulness — even down to his instrumental choice. Que’s hit single “OG Bobby Johnson” serves as the soundscape for the Chicago lyricist’s bars. “I treat you top 10 like my bottom 97/ I was in the trap house, n***a, watching 9-11,” Lupe rhymes on the energetic cut.

The Chicagorilla also briefly mentioned his upcoming album Tetsuo & Youth, which he says will “drop when it drop n***a. I don’t even know the date.” Hear Lupe Fiasco kick rhymes via “Thot 97” below. Sound off your thoughts in the comments.
