The now famed and massive ranger style hat that Pharrell Williams wore to this year’s Grammy Awards will soon be getting a new home. The “Happy” singer is auctioning off the prized Vivienne Westwood hat on eBay with the proceeds going to charity.
“Now is your chance to own a piece of pop culture history! Bid on Pharrell Williams’ Vivienne Westwood ‘Mountain’ hat that was one of the biggest hits of the 2014 GRAMMY Awards,” touts the eBay page.
According to Pharrell, he paid $200 for the hat. As this story is published the bidding is currently up to $10,500. The funds will benefit Pharrell’s own From One Hand to AnOTHER charity, whose purpose is “supporting the Pharrell Williams Resource Centers’ (PWRC) learning programs developed for every one of the underserved youth between the ages of 7 and 20 in at risk communities throughout the country.”
“Hey @Arbys, you want my hat? Now’s your chance…,” tweeted Pharrell yesterday.
Don’t be upset if you were getting used to Pharrell in the hat, he clearly has multiple versions. Check out close ups the hat that’s up for grabs in the following pages.
