As previously reported, the media was abuzz with news that Shyne had allegedly inked a seven figure deal with  Def Jam and now less than a week later there is confirmation.

The Chairman of Island Def Jam Records and music industry figure head, L.A. Reid, made a special trip to Belize Monday to officially sign Shyne Po after a nearly 8 year hiatus.

Speaking on his decision to bring Shyne back into the Def Jam family he told 7NewsBelize,

“I have come here to stand by Shyne and to officially kick off our partnership with Island Def Jam Music Group and Gangland Records and so it is really an honor to be here, really very special place.”

Shyne also expressed his sentiments on his new deal, telling 7NewsBelize,

“It is an honor and a pleasure, not just for me but for Belize. Chairman Reid is on the level of Berry Gordy, Clive Davis, the biggest music men in the history of music, and so to have a partnership with Gangland Records and Island/Def Jam is incredible for me.”

Gangland Records is a subsidiary of Island Def Jam.

His deal is for a reported $5 million.
