After losing five Olympic gold medals amidst a performance enhancing drug scandal and a federal prison sentence, Marion Jones will return to sports through the WNBA.
Jones has signed a free agent deal to play for Oklahoma’s Tulsa Shock. The former sprinter previously signed a deal with the Phoenix Mercury in 2003 but never played.
Speaking during a press conference Jones says she “welcomes the chance” to play in the league.
“The W.N.B.A. players are the greatest women’s basketball players in the world. I welcome my chance to play alongside them.”
She will reportedly make $35,000,in the coming season.
