The base line on “Darkness” is menacing, but it’s nothing compared to the thought of NehruvianDOOM, a gap-bridging collaborative project from the minds of veteran MC MF DOOM and bubbling newcomer Bishop Nehru.

From the highly anticipated project, fans receive the song with an accompanying treatment. Produced by DOOM, the 17-year-old handled the rhymes and directed the treatment. Dark and gloomy scenes show Nehru at an abandoned space, which is fitting considering the song’s title.

However, it’s the young wordsmith’s intricately written bars that have the spotlight here. “Sorrow won’t drown them, crowds will never clown them/ A lot of these laws open jaws when you’re brown skin,” Nehru raps.

NehruvianDOOM is due to release via Lex Records later this year. Peep the video for “Darkness” below.
