All adults know there is no rush in growing up but good look conveying that children. Sultry single Shanaz Dorsett is London by birth, Houston at heart and she’s using her majestic vocals to sing about pesky topics such as responsibility and hard work.

Her new record, “Big People’s Business” subscribes to the electro-soul genre she lays claim to but it still maintains a funky vibe that follow the lineage of Elle Varner, FKA Twigs and Sampha.

It’s one thing to sing from the soul for self-gratification but Shanaz has already drawn the attention of Electronic Youth, Benin City, and one of the GOAT’s, DJ Premier. After he blessed Christina Aguilera with unbelievable Hip-Hop production from a pop perspective in 2006, a Premo/Shanaz collabo would surely shake up the oft-stagnent “sanging” lane with ease.

Peep the reality hymn of the EOM-produced “Big People’s Business” in the Soundcloud player below. If you like what you hear, you’re in luck. Its coinciding extended player Mother Tongue will be front and center this coming October.
