Quiet as kept, Adrian Marcel’s “2 AM” is one of the best R&B jams of the year. It should be noticed that there is an emphasis on the quiet factor as the song deals with the late-night creep scenario on generally empty streets.

The record, scored by Minnesota producer Chrishan, has been lullabied by several rappers since its inception, including Sage the Gemini on the original and Kirko Bangz on a subsequent remix.

Now, the oil burning jam is seeing another makeover as two of Hip-Hop’s hottest non-rookies in K Camp and Problem hop on the boat with clever anecdotes to try get that sleepy girl out of her under clothes.

As a Oakland native and protegé of Raphael Saadiq, Marcel has been carving a lane for himself, letting the music do the talking, opposed to smothering audiences with sculpted abs like some of his competitors.
