Nine employees who were contracted to work for the Department of Education in Iowa are being indicted after gaining unauthorized access to President Obama’s student loan records.

According to published reports, the U.S. attorney’s office has issued indictments on all nine for exceeding authorized computer access. They are accused of gaining access to a computer at a Coralville office where they worked between July 2007 and March 2009, and accessing Obama’s student loan records while he was either a candidate for President, President-elect or President.

Andrew J. Lage, Patrick E. Roan, Sandra Teague, Mercedes Costoyas, Gary N. Grenell, Lisa Torney, Anna C. Rhodes, Julie L. Kline, and John P. Phommivong, have all been indicted by the grand jury, being formally charged with the crime of intentionally exceeded authorized access to a computer, obtaining information from a department and agency of the United States” and “intentionally accessing the student loan records” of Obama without authorization.

Arraignments are scheduled for May 24. The charge is punishable by up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.

This is crazy; people are truly going way too far to “verify” President Obama’s citizenship status. The question I have is where was all of the verifying of facts when ex-President Bush said he had a college degree? He obviously lacked skill and had a criminal record, although expunged, but no one seemed to care. People need to get a life.
