Hannibal Buress has made a splash in the comedy world with his deadpan delivery and digs on society but his latest target was one of his most shocking. In a recent stand-up performance, Buress calls out beloved comic Bill Cosby and accused him of being a rapist.

Buress was at Philadelphia’s Trocadero venue last Thursday when his now-viral routine was performed. Essentially, Buress launches into his routine in Cosby’s hometown and doesn’t hold back on his opinion of the man and getting big laughs from the crowd.

From PhillyMag.com:

“It’s even worse because Bill Cosby has the f-ckin’ smuggest old black man persona that I hate,” Buress said. “He gets on TV, ‘Pull your pants up black people, I was on TV in the 80s! I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom!’ Yeah, but you rape women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches.”

“I guess I want to just at least make it weird for you to watch Cosby Show reruns,” Buress says later. “I’ve done this bit on stage and people think I’m making it up…. when you leave here, google ‘Bill Cosby rape.’ That sh-t has more results than ‘Hannibal Buress.'”

Although Cosby has never been publicly accused of rape, he has faced several disturbing allegations that he’s drugged and sexually assaulted women. One such account appeared in Philadelphia Magazine‘s “Dr. Huxtable & Mr. Hyde” piece in 2006.
