Jeff Staple could teach a class on making power moves. The New York City designer and store owner announced a collaborative deal with PacSun, which will bring his Manhattan-based Reed Space to the massive retailer’s mall locations.
This is essentially a pop-up shop concept that pairs two respected figures in fashion. Staples explains that the mall is “the only shopping experience” for consumers who don’t live in major metropolitan cities. To circumvent this, he designed an in-store installation the will bring the Reed Space aesthetic into PacSun.
The Reed Space x PacSun collab will be tested in three locations in 2014–Glendale and San Francisco, Calif. and Queens Center, NY. Staple hopes to expand to 12-24 stores in 2015. Hear him speak in the clip below.
