Beyoncé gets sued a lot.

 

At this point, she’s worth so much money (around $450 million, and counting) that suing her could be a quick way to make a small fortune. And that’s not to say that she always wins on the legal end either. Some of the suits seem legit, others are crazy.

April 2014

Fans turned against Mrs. Carter in April of this year. Two women sued the singer because they were trampled at one of her concerts. Somehow, that’s her fault.

Nov. 2014

Backup dancer Javon Lee sued Bey for $3 million for allegedly stealing his music to make “XO”

2011 

Video game developer Gate Five filed a $100 million lawsuit against Beyoncé for reneging on a deal, after the company pumped $6 million into the project. She settled last year.

2009

Abercrombie & Fitch sued Bey for copyright infringement over her “Sasha Fierce” fragrance. The company  claimed the scent was too close to their “Fierce” perfume.

 

2007

Singer Des’ree (of the 1994 single, “You Gotta Be”) sued Bey for unlawfully recording a remake of her song “I’m Kissing You” an turning it into “Still In Love (Kissing You)” off the B’Day deluxe album.

2006

The Knowles woman (minus Solange) got sued in 2006 over a broken down business agreement. Grey Walker of Icon Entertainment filed a $1.5 million suit claiming Beyoncé and Tina never properly compensated him for securing a House of Deréon deal.

2005

“Baby Boy” brought on a lawsuit that was later thrown out. Singer Jennifer Armour accused Beyoncé of stealing the hook from her to make “Baby Boy.”

2002

Ex-Destiny’s Child members LeToya and LaTavia sued Beyoncé, and the other members of DC (which at the time consisted of Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin) for defaming them in the song “Survivor.” The booted DC affiliates took issue with the line “thought we wouldn’t sell without you, sold $9 million.”
