Macklemore and his longtime fiancée Tricia Davis will likely be postponing their upcoming marriage after seven years together. However, they have a pretty good reason.
The media began to pry on the personal life of the Grammy Award-winning rapper (real name Ben Haggerty) and with a heartfelt YouTube message, the couple have put all the rumors to bed.
The future Mr. and Mrs. Haggerty are expecting their first child.
“Today the media speculated about some big news in our life, so we decided to share it with you ourselves,” the opening dialogue read on the video. From then, the short clip revealed the two in a hospital room as Tricia got an ultrasound and Macklemore’s mother Julie proudly looked on.
According to Starpulse, rumors of the couple’s pregnancy began to swirl on New Year’s Eve when Tricia was seen at a party wearing a loose-fitting dress and refused to drink any alcohol, which is usually a tell-tale sign. The video–shot and edited by Jason Koenig and Ryan Lewis–ends with the due date announcement of May 2015.
