One of the year’s most anticipated movies in Da Sweet Blood of Jesus has arrived ahead of its scheduled release date.
Spike Lee took to Vimeo earlier to announce fans can now stream the unconventional horror flick online at their convenience. “You can get it on Vimeo, On Demand,” he explained in a video below. The Kickstarter film, which chronicles a new era of vampirism, stars The Wire’s Felicia Pearson, as well as Elvis Nolasco and Zaraah Abrahams.
It should be interesting to see how Hollywood in general begins to adapt to the Internet’s resources following Sony’s fiasco revolving around the Seth Rogen/James Franco film, The Interview. According to Hypebeast, Lee was able to raise $1.25 million of the film’s $1.4 million budget from fan support alone. The movie premiered at the American Black Film Festival last June to positive reviews, so audiences who have been clamoring for a new Spike Lee Joint just may get their needs met in full.
