Willie The Kid has been making noise on the mixtape circuit for the past few years, forging strong relationships with DJ Drama, The Alchemist, and Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Bronze Nazareth among others. For his latest track, “The Watch,” the Michigan native teams up with another potent wordsmith from his home state in Royce Da 5’9.

For those new to Willie The Kid, do know and understand this kid has bars for days along with one of the most effortless flows out. Budgie, the producer for “The Watch” and former collaborator with The Alchemist provides WTK and Nickel Nine with a thumping slow-flow track that provide spaces for the pair to get busy. Worth noting: The Alchemist is on the mixing board for this track.

“My neighborhood The Wire/’Cause every name it ain’t no Wee-Bay/Every b-tch ain’t Bae neither,” raps WTK in part of his opening bars which weave in and out behind the rhythm. While Willie The Kid was definitely going in, things turned up to another level when Royce Da 5’9 got started.

“I’m the race winner, the straight sprinter/The drama, leave you in reverse like Rae Sremmurd,” adds Royce. And as usual, the Slaughterhouse MC didn’t let the foot off the pedal in his usual fashion while punishing the track with more punchlines than we could count.

The track is the first single from Willie The Kid’s The Fly 3 album which is available for purchase now. A 48-minute companion short film, titled The Fly, is also available on WTK’s Fly Ventures website.
