The NFL season is a wrap after the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl over the Seattle Seahawks. But anyone who has paid attention to a police blotter knows the real fun is just beginning.
HipHopWired has already provided you with a gallery of NFL struggle mugshots. And given how many players regularly get busted for DUIs, there’s no reason to believe you won’t be seeing more. Here’s a brief history of shameful and ratchet NFL arrests.

Warren Sapp
The NFL Network has already canned former defensive end Warren Sapp after he was arrested on charges of soliciting a prostitute and assault following last week’s Super Bowl in Arizona.
Josh Gordon
The troubled wideout was cracked for a DUI in July of 2014, has faced two lengthy suspensions for drug and alcohol-related offenses, and was but on blast via Twitter by escort Jenna Shea.
Randy Moss
In 2002, Moss knocked a traffic control officer to the ground after bumping her with his car. He spent a night in jail and was charged with two misdemeanors.
Ray Lewis
At one point, Ray Lewis was facing two counts of murder, but he eventually struck a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to obstruction of justice. In exchange for the lesser charge, Lewis testified against Reginald Oakley and Joseph Sweeting in the January, 2000 deaths of Richard Lollar and Jacinth Baker.
T.J. Ward
In August of 2014, Denver Broncos’ safety T.J. Ward accepted a plea deal calling for his to perform community service after being charged with misdemeanor assault and disturbing the peace for throwing a glass mug at a bartender at the Denver, Colorado shake joint PT’s All Nude.
Pacman Jones
Jones may never hit the shake joint again. He was ordered to pay $11.6 million in damages after someone in his entourage opened fire inside a strip club. Jones and one of the club’s bouncers got into it after Jones spotted club patrons picking up the $40,000 in dollar bills he was raining down on strippers.
Adrian Peterson
Adrian Peterson pleaded guilty to reckless assault and paid a $4,000 fine after hitting his four-year-old son with a tree switch in May of 2014. The switch originally left welts and had Peterson facing charges of felony abuse.
Greg Hardy
Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Hardy has likely played his last game for the Carolina Panthers. Hardy was sentenced to 60 days in jail and 18 months probation last summer after being found guilty of assaulting and communicating threats to a cocktail waitress.
Ray Rice
The NFL somehow missed video evidence of Ray Rice serving his then-fiancée Janay with a two-piece while the couple argued in an Atlantic City casino elevator. Rice was dropped from the Baltimore Ravens, charged with third-degree aggravated assault, and had to pay a $125 fine while receiving anger management counseling.
Chad Johnson
Aside from becoming a Pusha T punchline, Ochocinco’s head butting of his former fiancée Evelyn got him cut by the Miami Dolphins. He pleaded no contest to misdemeanor domestic violence and was put on probation.
Marshawn Lynch
Long before his media boycott, Lynch had his license revoked and was subject to a $150 fine for bumping an Ontario woman with his Porchse SUV in 2008 during his tenure with the Buffalo Bills. Lynch was charged with reckless driving.
Adewale Ojomo
The Tennessee Titans waived defensive end Adewale Ojomo in April of 2014, after he was arrested on charges of soliciting a prostitute. Ojomo allegedly offered an undercover officer $100.
Donte Stallworth
In 2009, Stallworth struck and killed Mario Reyes. The wide receiver was found to have a blood-alcohol level of .126. After he pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter, Stallworth had his license suspended for life, served a 30-day jail sentence and settled with Reyes’ family for an undisclosed sum.
Aaron Hernandez
In theory, Aaron Hernandez could be basking in the glow of being an NFL Super Bowl champ, since his former team just took the honors a week ago. But Hernandez is in a cell facing murder charges in connection with the 2013 death of Odin Lloyd.
