Erykah Badu is (almost) everyone’s favorite and the Grammy Award-winning star showed how clever mind can make even the most of downtrodden situations better.

Dallas has been hit with some rather nasty weather as of late, prompting schools and airports to be shut down as the winter storm passes over. Badu was heading to Los Angeles, but of course, her flight was canceled like the rest of the passengers. When the local CBS News 11 grabbed her for a quickie interview, she had jokes for days in lieu of her vacant “Window Seat.”

“It’s hard out here for a pimp, you know?,” she said, referencing the unforgettable song from Hustle & Flow, as well as her trademarked top hat and fur coat wardrobe. “I’m just trying to get to Los Angeles. I just have to wait a little bit longer.”

“Everything’s closed,” she continued, rattling off all the top institutions in the area. “Badu’s school is open, though,” she quipped.

At as the reporter concluded his segment, Badu waved to the cameras and mouthed the words, “Hey mom.” You gotta love it.

Take a look at Badu’s entertaining interview below.
