A real man get his day in court, or in this case, settles out of court. Damon Dash‘s $2M lawsuit (which was upped to $25M) against director Lee Daniels has finally been squashed.

Says The Hollywood Reporter:

Lee Daniels has resolved a sticky legal situation involving $2M lent by Damon Dash, which the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder asserted was never fully repaid with debts rolled over, entitling Dash to participate in the success of such films as The Butlerand Precious and the hit Fox television show, Empire.

On Tuesday, the parties filed papers dismissing the lawsuit. According to Dash’s attorney Natraj Bhushan, it was a “creative, fair” settlement that “calls for them to work together in the not-so-distant future.” Bhushan couldn’t offer any specific details given a confidentiality provision.

Now Dash can go ahead an watch Empire since Daniels will no longer owe him money. As part of the settlement, the two will be collaborating. Sounds like a win win for the Harlemite.

Dash took to Instagram to comment on the settlement, saying “This #bukowski movie gets serious and by the way lee Daniel is executive producer on this one…pause we squashed are beef…never wanna have a problem with another man from our culture.”
