As fate would have it, 2015 appears to be the year Wale’s career has come full circle. The Maybach Music Group all-star player recently scored a Billboard No. 1 album after he revisited his breakout project, The Mixtape About Nothing and now, it has been discovered that there is a Wale Go-Go album in the early stages of creation.

This news should sound golden to any early Wale fan, for it was records such as “Nike Boots” that employed the D.C. sounds that put the multi-talented MC on the map. While out at last weekend’s Essence Festival, Hip-Hop Wired nestled into a press conference where the announcement was made.

“I’m working on a go-go album and it’s kind of like my N*E*R*D project separate outside [of a] ‘Wale project,” he explained. Aside from ensuring the proper musicianship is play, he’s also getting the key musicians into the fold as well.

“I got like…Tinashe and Chris Brown and a whole lot more [dope people] who is trying to help me work [on the project]. The 30-year-old platinum-selling artist also revealed his intentions of getting several prominent Go-Go musicians in the mix; joking how “some people” don’t even know they’re going to get a call from him to meet him in a Los Angeles studio in the forthcoming weeks.

Wale also revealed that MMG’s Self Made Vol. 4 is also being recorded and the boss, Rick Ross, is “doing fine” after being released from jail over accusations of felonious assault with a gun.

“Go-Go is like the most jaded music culture genre in the world,” Wale continued. “It’s a process and I’m willing to take it on. I got some good people with me.”
