One of the few times you won’t find a celebrity happy to smile for a photo is when the feds are out there taking pictures.

When the boys from the bureau started getting nosey, things got incredibly real for these 14 stars who were probed by the FBI.

As far as the Federal Bureau of Investigations is concerned, Biggie, Tupac Shakur, Sean Combs, and Suge Knight are a package deal. You can’t read Notorious B.I.G.’s FBI file without multiple mentions of Combs and Knight.

Ann Nicole Smith

Anna Nicole Smith

Before she was on Kanye’s Workout Plan, the FBI had former Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith in the proverbial crosshairs as a suspect for the murder of her octogenarian, millionaire son-in-law.

Eazy-E

While the FBI’s letter to N.W.A following “F**k Tha Police” is now the stuff of legend, the FBI’s 1996 inquiry into the late Eric Wright also reveals he was allegedly the victim of an extortion attempt by the Jewish Defense League.

Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston

The immediate question here is why did Whitney Houston have an FBI file in the first place? It turns out Houston’s father paid one of Whitney’s former friends $250,000 as part of an extortion attempt in 1992. The feds also shut down two stalkers as well.

Notorious B.I.G.

The Notorious B.I.G.

When people assume you started a bi-coastal war and your mother files a multi-million dollar suit against the LAPD, there’s going to be an FBI file. The bureau publicly released some of the details in 2011.

Martin Luther King Jr.

How foul is the FBI? Under the guise of J. Edgar Hoover, the feds sent Martin Luther King Jr. a nasty note advising him to commit suicide or be outed for his “immoral conduct.” They also installed wiretaps to conduct surveillance on King and many of his associates.

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson

In 2004, the Santa Maria, California Police Department requested and received federal assistance to investigate Michael Jackson’s child molestation charges. Although some of the circumstantial and anecdotal stuff looked incredibly sus, the FBI never developed any evidence against Jackson.

Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur

Tupac Shakur

An FBI file on Tupac made public in the spring of 2011 leaves more questions than answers. Over 20 pages of the document have been deleted or redacted, and a Federal investigation of Shakur began a mere two days before he was fatally shot in Las Vegas.

T.I.

Between the ATF deciding to relieve him of a small arsenal of weapons and former Grand Hustle artist Alfamega accused of being a federal informant, it’s safe to say some of Tip’s fears about the feds are well founded.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe

In addition to allegedly being one of President John F. Kennedy’s sidepieces, Monroe drew the ire of the feds for having alleged communists as friends. As such, the feds kept a heavy watch on the star from 1955 until her death in 1962.

Irv Gotti Lorenzo and Ja Rule

Ja Rule and Irv Gotti

In documents obtained by TheSmokingGun, Special Agent Francis Mace reported an investigation of Murder Inc. revealed that Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff allegedly orchestrated a plot to kill 50 Cent. Ja and Irv were eventually cleared, but their careers have never been the same. McGriff is currently serving a life sentence in prison.

Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z

Jay Z

Hov often talks about the feds being on his tail. While that may or may not be true, the two times the FBI has gone on record about investigating Jay Z have nothing to do with his former underworld dealings. There was a federal probe in 2013 after Jay Z and dozens of other celebs had their social security numbers and credit card info publicized. The feds also checked up on a 2014 trip Jay and Beyonce took to Cuba and declared it legal.

Tommy Tiny Lister

Even Deebo isn’t safe from the feds. In 2012, Tiny Lister and his accountant were charged in federal court with conspiring to commit mortgage fraud in a scheme that led to $3.8 million in losses.

N.W.A

According to members of the legendary group, the FBI was so heated upon hearing “F**k Tha Police,” that the sent N.W.A a personalized letter.
