On Wednesday, media tycoon and Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch tweeted praise of Ben Carson and suggested he’s a “real Black president” and seemingly slamming President Barack Obama. Murdoch has since apologized for his online gaffe, stating he finds both men “charming.”

Murdoch, who has often tweeted remarks in a choppy fashion in times past, took to Twitter last night and praised Carson and his wife, Candy.

“Ben and Candy Carson terrific. What about a real black President who can properly address the racial divide? And much else,” tweeted Murdoch.

Criticism and reaction to Murdoch’s tweet came in swiftly as expected, prompting the mogul to respond in kind.

“Apologies! No offence meant.   Personally find both men charming,” wrote Murdoch this morning.

At 84, Murdoch should probably let his social media fall into the hands of a public relations guru to stave off instances like this.
