A 25-year-old mother in Ferguson, Mo. was found dead in her apartment Saturday (Nov. 28) and family members think a Facebook friend may be involved. Sharae Bradford was discovered face down, naked and in a pool of blood.
Family members think the killer may have been caught on surveillance from entering and/or exiting her apartment complex. Bradford’s exact cause of death is unclear.
Reports STL Today:
About 6 p.m. Saturday, police went to the 1500 block of Northwinds Estates after someone called to say a woman was unconscious and bleeding at the Versailles Apartments.
Ferguson spokesman Jeff Small said a family member went to check on Bradford after not being able to get in contact with her and discovered her “bleeding heavily” but responsive.
By the time paramedics arrived, she was not responsive, and was pronounced dead at the scene, which is just off West Florissant Avenue.
Small said Bradford lived in the apartment, but he did not know for how long, and that police had no motive or suspects in the case.
Small said investigators are following some leads.
Police released no additional details.
Ferguson’s interim police chief, Andre C. Anderson, asked the Major Case Squad to help Ferguson police with the investigation.
Bradford was mom to a 6-year-old girl. The child was not home when she was killed.
Her family says a male friend she met on Facebook last week, dropped by her house for the first time Saturday. The man is believed to be mentally ill with a long history of violent crimes against women. “We didn’t know this until everybody started posting things on Facebook about him,” said the victim’s mother. “They say they know he did this. We know he did this, my daughter is killed. My daughter is murdered because of this.”
