The loss of A Tribe Called Quest MC Phife Dawg has left a void in the hearts of tried and true Hip-Hop fans worldwide. Q-Tip took to Twitter last night (April 3), to address the passing of his friend and group member, calling him his “hero.”
“I miss my lil brotha so much right now….,” tweeted the Abstract Poetic. “He is my hero. I’ve never seen such a fighter. I’m sure u have been through this as well but now that in death there is signs and gifts abound. He left me with the gift of unconditional love and brotherhood that will NEVER be lost with me… Ever.”
While the two friends had well-documented squabbles that left the group on way too many hiatuses, their friendship would always trump any pettiness. Reportedly, ATCQ was working on new music at the time of the 5 Foot Assassin’s passing.
