Nas continues to prepare for life after rap and judging from his latest endeavors. After becoming the voice for those jewel dropping’ Hennessy commercials (you can’t tell us you never met a dude who became a philosopher after getting lit off the Henney rock), launching a Ghostbusters inspired clothing line, and lending his pen to an upcoming Netflix series, his Illmaticness is adding film producer to his ever expanding resume.

The Land is first up in what seems to be a promising Hollywood career. The movie is based in Cleveland and centers around a group of inner-city teenage skaters who stumble upon a stash of molly and decide to flip it and put themselves on. The latest trailer plays out like a mash-up of cult classic films Kids and Dope with a twist of Belly (which starred Nas himself).

Boasting appearances from Erykah Badu, Machine Gun Kelly, and Michael K. Williams (Omar from The Wire), the Steven Caple Jr. written and directed film is set to drop in theaters and on VOD this July 29.

Check out the trailer and see what all the hype is about and let us know if you’ll be checking for the film, and the highly anticipated soundtrack.

Sidenote: Remember when film soundtracks were a big deal? Millennials probably don’t. They were though.
