Before Bloods, Crips, and all these other gangs were running rampant around New York City, the Decepticons were holding it down something serious. To the uninitiated the sound of a street organization named after a villainous cartoon crew may sound a bit childish, but make no mistake about it, in the late 80’s through mid 90’s the Decepticons were some big boys who made Brooklyn their yard and New York City their playground.

Doggie Diamonds TV interviewed OG Decepticon member General Steele from Smif-N-Wessun a.k.a. The Cocoa Brovas, and he breaks down the history of the legendary Brooklyn crew including where it all started, its various legions, and how they branched out to other boroughs.

Peep the interview below and let us know if you have any memories of the Deceps from yesteryear.
