The supporting characters yearn for more trust and meaningful roles from their senior counterparts this week. Dre (Rotimi)  is tired of being humble and confronts Ghost about the Arana card. Dre knows the bloody card means bad business from his time in jail. Dre is willing to ride with Ghost to no end, but Ghost just wants him to do his job, and mind his business. Dre’s role as club manager goes to hell quickly. He fails to secure a contract for the coveted DJ Taj, losing his business to Andy, the owner of Club Visage who partied in Truth’s VIP the night before. Ghost may have defeated Simon Stern on the club front, but this new challenger looks to take the crown by any means necessary.

Holly positioned herself to be the Tasha to Tommy’s Ghost since they met last season. Tommy wants to keep her separate from the business but Holly will hear none of it. Both Tommy and Holly are passionate and impulsive to a fault, and that was evident by Holly’s initiative to deposit Tommy’s check without his consent. Tommy furiously demanded that any future moves need to be agreed upon by him, and Holly agreed…but that didn’t last long. Holly consoled Tommy while he weepingly confessed that their lives were in danger because he didn’t kill Ghost, and that Lobos had their dog murdered. Holly once again made a decision behind Tommy’s back contacting Tasha to bring her in on the operation! Tasha will teach Holly about money management, laundering and will look to make the new operation more cohesive. Holly also ensures Tommy that he can kill Ghost by telling him  “If you can’t kill Ghost, do it for me”.

Power Season 3 2016

Speaking of Tasha, one of the most powerful scenes in Power history went down when she went to Angela’s house (!!!) to give her the crash course in taking care of her kids. Talk about surreal! I expected UFC 201 to being right there, but Tasha showed her maturity, with a side of petty. She wants to make sure her kids are straight and comfortable. Angela’s face was PRICELESS!! The quote of the night from Tasha about interacting with her kids while dating Ghost:

“You want him? You want them! Remember that. You better be sure you’re ready for this”

Raina and Tariq get some excellent camera time here, as we get a look into a Husband and Wife separation from the kids perspective. They aren’t receptive to spending quality time with Angela, but Tasha won’t let them grow up without a father in their life. Their first meeting with Angela was as awkward as can be, with some probing questions about how they met, etc. They seem to vibe with Angela well enough, and Ghost attempts to have that tough discussion with them. When Tariq goes snooping around the house and finds a gun, who knows what he’s going to do!

We have to keep an eye on Dre’s homies who want to stick up rich victims by Truth, Tariq and his newfound affinity for firearms, and whether Angela will still trust Ghost after these recent events in the Lobos case. It will never be over for our favorite Power players, until they act accordingly.
