Minister Louis Farrakhan has some choice words for those who feel that people have to vote this year.
Minister Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam held their annual Holy Day Of Atonement in Atlanta, Ga. this past weekend and he had some sharp words about the the choices in the 2016 Presidential election.
“We’ve got two big illusions now, Trump and Hillary,” he says. “Blacks [are] creating the illusion…I think our President has said his legacy is tied to your voting for Hillary. He said if you want to give me a good send off, then go vote [for Hillary]. In Congress there are three types of votes. There is a yay, a nay and an abstention. Don’t let anyone tell you that you have to vote. If I have to vote for Satan or Lucifer, I don’t have much of a choice there. I would rather vote for Christ.”
Farrakhan’s sentiments echo those of many who feel they have no good options in the upcoming election. When HipHopWired asked some of you favorite rappers if they were voting or staying at home, many of them admitted that they are staying home. Leading voices like Diddy, Marc Lamont Hill and Killer Mike have also suggested not giving votes to Trump or Hillary either.
How do you feel about voting in the election on November 8?
