The Marvel cinematic universe is about to get a bit bigger and maybe a little more controversial.

According to DEADLINE the culture’s favorite comic book company has found their lead characters for the upcoming drama series, Marvel’s Cloak And Dagger.

Starring The Night Of’s Aubrey Joseph (Cloak/Tyrone) and former Disney Channel star Olivia Holt (Dagger/Tandy), the new Freeform series centers around an interracial romance between the two title characters who have very different powers and personalities but realize they make each other better.

Says Deadline:

“The characters of Tandy and Tyrone have always stood out to me ever since I first met them in the pages of Marvel comics when I was a boy,” said Pokaski. “When Olivia and Aubrey read for the roles, these characters leapt off the page.  We’re so excited to see what these talented young actors bring to the Marvel Universe.”

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, which had been in the works at Freeform’s predecessor ABC Family for about five years, is a co-production of Marvel Studios and ABC Signature Studios. Pokaski executive produces with Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s head of Television, and Jim Chory. Cloak & Dagger joins two Marvel series for ABC: series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the upcoming The Inhumans.

Don’t be surprised if Donald Trump signs an executive order demanding that production of this interracial love story be stopped at once.
