Chance The Rapper continues to set the bar for independent rappers looking to make it on their own steam. Just a month after landing a Grammy award, the Kit-Kat spokesman now has his vocals featured in the latest ad creative from 1800 Tequila.

The 1800 Tequila commercial uses the Chicagoan’s verse from the Octave Minds song “Tap Dance” as the soundtrack for a commercial that features a boxer who moonlights as a pianist.

The theme is centered around 1800 Tequila’s latest mantra, “Just Refined Enough.”But don’t think that 1800 Tequila is sailing in uncharted Hip-Hop territory.

Through Billboard the Tequila brand has already partnered with top Hip-Hop acts such as Rae Sremmured, Travis Scott, and Mike Will-Made-It.

Between this and the Hennessey commercials featuring Nas, it’s good to see that top shelf liquor brands are finally acknowledging the culture that’s constantly namedropping their products.

Somewhere St. Ides is taking credit for trailblazing that commercial path for rappers.
