Erykah Badu is going on tour starting this May.

Ms. Badu made the sudden announcement on her Twitter page Wednesday morning [May 3]. The tour starts in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday, May 6. The first leg of the tour covers the Southeast with dates in Atlanta, Houston and New Orleans. After that, she goes overseas to rock London, Switzerland, Copenhagen, and Finland. Then she will return stateside in July to hit Los Angeles, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Chicago New York City and Richmond, Va.

Badu announced the music news on Twitter this morning (May 3), along with a tour poster of dates and cities. The show will first touch down in Birmingham, Alabama on May 6, running through Atlanta, Houston, and New Orleans, before heading overseas. There, the tour will cover venues in London, Switzerland, Copenhagen, and Finland. Badu will wrap up after a 6-month stint back in the United States, visiting major cities such as Los Angeles, Charlotte, and New York City. The tour ends in October with shows in Japan. In the middle of all of this, Badu will play London on July 6 to commemorate the 20-year anniversary of her debut album Baduizm.
