Carmelo Anthony and estranged wife LaLa Anthony were among the high-profile celebrity couples of late to announce the split of their marriage this year. While there doesn’t appear to be any chance of a rekindling, the pair is in no rush to get a finalized divorce.
TMZ reports that a source close to Anthonys say that the couple is choosing to co-parent their son, Kiyan, without the hassle of the divorce proceedings so far. The couple has been seen in recent months together at events with their 1o-year-old, choosing to remain friendly for the sake of the family unit.
TMZ Sports writes:
Sources close to the ex-couple tell TMZ … neither one is in any hurry to file divorce papers because they’re happy with the way things are right now. We’re told they’re definitely not getting back together, but are working together to be there for their 10-year-old son.
As our source puts the situation … “Divorce isn’t on the horizon.”
The couple’s marriage has been in shambles since reports earlier this year that Melo got a woman who reportedly works as a stripper claimed to be far along in a pregnancy and carrying the New York Knicks star’s baby.
