The New York Knicks have blessed their fans with a good morning as it was announced they will be parting ways with team president Phil Jackson.

The announcement comes after years of struggle and was perhaps accelerated over the last couple of weeks as Jackson let it be known that he was open to trading the franchise’s star-in-the-making Kristaps Porzingis. This also came after months of essentially making the face of the team, Carmelo Anthony feel unwelcome as well.

Jackson is already in the history books as a legendary coach who won six NBA Championships with the Chicago Bulls and another five with the Los Angeles Lakers, but his time as a team executive was marred with poor decision making. Which was pointed out by ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith who gave us this internet gem last week.

As of now Knicks fans are rejoicing and also sending up prayers on Carmelo Anthony’s behalf.
