Young Dolph is reportedly in critical but stable condition after getting shot yesterday (Sept. 26) in Los Angeles. More details are coming to light regarding the circumstances of the shooting.

Per the authorities, Dolph, born  Adolph Thornton Jr., 32, was shot after an altercation with three men outside the Loews Hotel in Hollywood.

During the fight, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot Dolph, critically injuring the Memphis rapper. One person was detained after the incident but it is unknown if he was the shooter.

The Los Angeles Times offers more details, saying Dolph fell to the ground during the fight, which is when the gunman shot him. But Dolph somehow got up and ran into the nearby Shoe Palace store.

According to the Associated Press, the police are investigating whether shooting was the result of a rivalry with Dolph and another Hip-Hop artist. The “tension” between Dolph and rapper Yo Gotti is well known, and TMZ reports that he is a person of interest.

Despite this, allegedly both artists and their entourage were staying at the same landmark hotel at the same damn time.

A gold Cadillac was reportedly seen fleeing the scene, and it was later found abandoned at a gas station.

Dolph was taken to the hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.
