Cam Newton took an L today (Oct. 4), while standing behind a podium. During a press conference, Charlotte Observer reporter Jourdan Rodrigue asked the Panthers QB about the his receivers (David Funchess) running routes more physically, and he went full sexist.
You knew it was all downhill when Newton started smirking before she even finished her question.
“It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes,” said Newton.
The moment was cringe worthy, and Rodrigue responded on Twitter.
And yes, she addressed it with Newton afterwards, and it didn’t go well.
This will go viral and expect a Newton mea culpa sooner than later. Also, don’t be one of those people defending the indefensible.
- Women know sports, ask Jemele Hill, and ain’t nothing funny about it.
- Using “female” as a noun when referring to a woman is offensive.
Watch the clip and and see some of the early Cam Newton slander below. Media training, anyone?
