Cory Gunz MTV Documentary

With six years in the game resulting in three failed record deals, Bronx bomber Cory Gunz is finally poised to take up his spot in the limelight after recently signing with Lil Wayne. Now, MTV has announced it will air a six-part documentary produced by Nick Cannon titled “Son of A Gun,” which chronicles young rapper’s journey.

“Son of A Gun” will shadow Cory Gunz’s expedition through the music industry, with the help of his manager Nick Cannon and his father/co-manager/Peter Gunz.

His father, Peter Gunz, had a semi-successful hip-hop career, most notably for his hit single “Deja Vu (Uptown Baby),” with Lord Tariq.

“Cory’s story is inspiring, one that boldly paints the many trials and tribulations he’s had to endure in pursuit of his dreams.” says Nick Cannon. “I’m grateful for the access that Cory and Peter allowed us to have in order to create a series that we feel will really resonate with MTV viewers.”

In March, 2010, Gunz signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint and is hoping his hard work has paid off with YMCM.

“Were bringing our viewers the raw and unfiltered story of a young man learning to cope with the industry’s ups and downs, while on the cusp of becoming a breakout success” adds Chris Linn, Executive Vice President, Programming & Head of Production, MTV.

Gunz is featured on “6’7,” the lead single off Lil Wayne’s Carter IV.

“Son of A Gun” will debut on MTV on Thursday, April 28 at 11:00 PM.
