On September 18th-20th Cleveland, OH will host the fourth annual Ohio Hip Hop Awards & Music Conference. The event will be held at the Cleveland Convention Center and 2,500 are expected to attend. Among the guests will be mixshow DJs, radio programmers, industry pros and national to statewide media. For three days attendants will be able to network, watch talent showcases and an award show, as well as participate in community and school programs.

Among those expected to make appearances are Cam’ron, Corey Gunz, Nikki Giovanni & Shire’, record label reps from Interscope, Warner Brothers and others. Earlier this year the event organizers held a showcase tour where the winners get to perform at the Cleveland Convention Center in addition to automatically getting a nomination in the “Best Live Performance” category.

At an event like this you can’t forget about all the parties, but even the parties are worked into the goal of supporting local talent. All the second place finishers win a performance slot at the official Ohio Hip Hop Awards pre-party the day before the main event. The pre-party will also feature an 8-man emcee battle tournament. The winner form each city will compete to have their final battle at the actual awards show.

The 2009 Ohio Hip Hop Awards is hosted by WENZ’s Latin Assassin & WIZF’s DJ Dimepiece. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations.
