Eddie Long Accuser Arrested

Jamal Parris, one of the men who settled a reported multi-million dollar lawsuit with Bishop Eddie Long in his sexual misconduct case was arrested Tuesday evening in Florida according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Parris was reportedly driving a 2011 BMW in Miami Beach when he was pulled over for not having tags on the vehicle.

When police approached the car, they reported smelling marijuana.

A search of the car turned up 181 grams of weed. They also found 50 clear plastic baggies, a Taurus semiautomatic handgun and $1,250.

Parris was arrested and charged with two felony counts: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while committing a felony. He was also hit with operating a motor vehicle with no registration.

“He kept telling me he bought that BMW with the settlement money,” arresting officer Sgt. Seth Dubinsky said.

Parris also told the cop was in South Florida to attend Miami-Dade College. “He said, ‘you guys are getting the wrong impression of me.'”

Parris is one of the four men who accused Atlanta Bishop, Eddie Long of sexual coercion last year.

Parris previously gave an interview to a local news crew where he detailed the abuse saying,

“I cannot get the sound of his voice out of my head…I cannot forget the smell of his cologne.  And I cannot forget the way that he made me cry many nights when I drove in his car on the way home, not able to take enough showers to wipe the smell of him off of my body.”

The case was settled out of court in May for an officially undisclosed amount.

Reports have the number in the $20 million range.
