XXL released a fresh batch of Freshman freestyles over the course of this past week, following the previous pool of bars from Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, Rich Homie Quan, and others.
It’s still the season of XXL Freshman fever. Now that angst for this year’s selections has significantly wavered, the publication has offered up some accompanying content, including some proper freestyles.
When thinking of rappers and their celebrations, the first thing that comes to mind is excessive spending, bottle popping and the like. But XXL Freshman Chance The Rapper had some different in mind as, he capped off turning 21-years-old with fans and close friends.
XXL magazine’s power is proven each year when the publication shakes up the proverbial pot 0n-command with their infamous XXL Freshman list. Hip-Hop Wired had a chance to chop it up with Editor-in-chief Vanessa Satten about the 2014 class, the addition of R&B artists Ty Dolla $ign and August Alsina, and much more.
Since 2008, XXL’s Freshmen list has sparked serious conversation amongst the Hip-Hop community, as well as being a springboard for some of today’s hottest rappers.
