Award-winning actor Denzel Washington was not present at the White House ceremony honoring him and the 16 other recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom last Thursday after testing positive for COVID-19. President Joe Biden recognized his absence in his speech from the East Room.

Denzel Washington spoke for the first time about his interaction with Will Smith after the altercation he had with comedian Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards. The actor talked about it during a conversation with Bishop T.D. Jakes at the International Leadership Summit on Saturday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
