Republican congressman George Santos publicly declared that he would not resign from the House of Representatives amid a strong condemnation from the Nassau County GOP on Wednesday. The politician has been called out for numerous false claims about his life and career since taking office last week. Fellow Republican representatives from New York have also joined the Nassau County GOP in calling for Santos to step down.
Earlier today a shooting inside a Long Island office building near a shopping mall has has left two people shot, with one person dying from their wounds. Local police have locked down the nearby mall in search of a 64-year-old Asian man as their chief suspect.
