Earlier today a shooting inside a Long Island office building near a shopping mall has has left two people shot, with one person dying from their wounds. Local police have locked down the nearby mall in search of a 64-year-old Asian man as their chief suspect.

NBC New York reports that Sang Ho Kim, reportedly a disgruntled employee, entered the office of a light fixture company near the Roosevelt Field Mall in East Garden City shortly after 10 a.m. this morning. Kim allegedly opened fire, shooting two people and later fled in a white Honda. The condition of the surviving victim has not been released.

According to a tweet from ABC 7, Garden City police are on the lookout for “a suspect that they described as a 6’2″ Asian male, wearing a red shirt, grey or brown suit jacket.”

Nassau County Police Chief Steven Skrynecki said in a statement that Kim’s office attack was planned and inspired by a “bad business deal” with a specific person in the office. Garden City Schools also issued a lockdown, not allowing anyone to enter facilities during the widespread investigation.

This story is still developing.
