Solange Says Police Pulled Blade, Police Respond

The Miami Police department is responding to Solange Knowles after she accused an officer of pulling a switch blade on her this weekend.

The songstress and now auntie to be, caused a firestorm on Twitter when she called out the Miami PD for drawing a weapon during an incident near Miami’s Club Cameo.

Now more details on the incident are being released, including a firery statement from the MPD against her.

According to E! Online, a witness says the singer was intoxicated and tried to enter the club with a 3 foot balloon shaped like a banana but was stopped by authorities.

“She came with 3 people in shorts, was wasted, and wouldn’t put down a 3 ft balloon… then took it upon herself to accuse the Cuban cop across the street, [Miami Beach Police Department] as a bunch of racists – how do you think that went over?”

Solange says however that at first a Miami police officer was friendly and jokingly threatened to pop the balloon. Things took a turn for the worse however when the officer became aggresive with the switch blade in hand.
Her rep tells E!,

“They cabbed it to another night spot, where the bouncer informed them that they couldn’t take the balloon inside. They decided to go across the street to deflate the balloon, where they encountered two police officers who had casual, light-hearted conversation with them,” Knowles’ rep states. “One officer pulled out a switchblade and threatened to pop the balloon. They felt it was inappropriate, but the turning point happened when he then took out the switchblade a second time with the blade open and said to them, ‘I don’t find the humor in this, anymore.’ The blade was less than a couple feet away from Solange and her friends.”

The officer proceeded to “forcefully” ask them to move, gesturing that they cross the street though there was oncoming traffic, the rep continues. “Solange then asked the officer what was it that they did wrong, and he forcefully responded again to move. When a taxi pulled up, they got in and headed home. Solange made a series of calls to report the incident and was told to be prepared to be arrested when she came in to report the incident if her story was false. Solange simply wanted to report that the officer pulled out a weapon, when she had done nothing illegal, disruptive or belligerent.”

In addition to Solange, the Miami PD has released a statement of their own. According to the police department, Solange is unlawfully accusing them of wrongdoing considering that it was the Miami Beach Police involved in the incident and not them.
A statement to Gossip Center reads,

“Over the weekend, the lion’s share of the mainstream and entertainment media reported that the Miami Police Department had a confrontation with Solange Knowles, the sister of Beyonce Knowles of record and movie fame.”

“We have investigated and found that this incident DID NOT occur in our city. We have determined that Ms. Knowles was not in our city at the time of the alleged incident. That city has informed us that they are looking into the incident. This incident DID NOT involve the Miami Police Department in any way, shape, or form.”

Solange has yet to respond.
