Young Jeezy got a shout out at the hands of the most unlikely of fans: President Obama. The Snowman’s name came up during the White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday (April 28), in which the president joked about covering Jeezy’s music. “In my first term I sang Al Green. In my second term, I’m going with Young Jeezy,” he said getting a laugh from the crowd, which included the first lady. “Michelle said ‘yeah,’ I sing that to her sometimes.”
Once he got word of the mention, Jeezy took to Twitter to give thanks. “Shoutout to @BarackObama,” he wrote. The Atlanta rapper has been a vocal supporter of Obama, and dropped Hip-Hop’s unofficial political anthem,”My President is Black” in 2008.
POTUS, who recently covered Rolling Stone, started the dinner out commemorating the one-year anniversary of the death Osama Bin Laden. Aside from showing Jeezy love, President Obama took a few shots at Sara Palin, Mitt Romney, and Hillary Clinton.
