A funeral home in Denver is under scrutiny for mixing up the bodies of two deceased women.

Officials say the family of Imogene Jackson went to view her body at Pipkin Mortuary only to discover that that the woman in the casket was not Jackson.

When they questioned funeral home staff, the staff tried to convince them that the women was indeed their family member but eventually called off  the viewing hours.

The woman in the casket was actually Evelyn Lucille Jackson who was supposed to have been buried January 21 instead, Imogene Jackson had been buried in her place.

Jackson’s son told Detroit 9 News that during the funeral he thought his mother looked different but reasoned it with her death saying “everyone looks different.”

After getting a call from the owner of the home, Mark Pipkin, he gave the funeral director permission to exhume the body of Imogene Jackson.

This is one of several times that Pipkin Mortuary has had a mix-up like this.

Previously the mortuary was ordered to exhume the body of a young boy after they mistakenly buried him in a pink casket and before then they abruptly canceled the funeral of a woman’s husband because they “scheduled it wrong.”

SMH….someone shut this place down please. That’s ridiculous.
