Man Arrested For Operating Fake Dentist Office, Using Power Tools On Patients

A man pretending to be a dentist in Chicago has been arrested after police say he operated a fake dental office, taking patients to an auto garage and operating on them with power tools.

Francisco Rendon was arrested Thursday after police found his faux dental lair on the Southside of Chicago.

Operating out of a rented room Rendon had a leather office seat for his patients and a garbage can for spitting instead of a sink.

Police also found syringes, dentures and pain killers. They also found tools including a power tool traditionally used to polish metal.

Rendon claims to have a dental license in Mexico but police say he does not have one in the U.S. or the required business license for his service.

He faces a misdemeanor charge of providing medical service without a license.

What idiot would go to a dental office located in a auto garage? What idiot would allow someone to operate on them, once they have seen the office? Where does common sense come in to play in this situation??? It’s a sad day when you realize how uneducated some people are. Sadly, this man did this in a part of town where he knew he could get away with it.

WTF. why would you even allow someone to even operate on you in a non-medical setting. Were they that desparate for dental work? I don’t if = am more mad at the “dentist” or the absent minded patients.

When you have a horrible toothache, you don’t think straight… That’s the only explanation I have.

If someone promises to get you out of pain, you’d probably be willing to try anything.

It seems like there are a lot of news stories lately about people practicing dentistry without a license. Maybe it’s due to the poor economy.

Hopefully the economy will be looking better by the time I’m done with dental school.

No thanks
